From the Head of School
Without mincing words, the 2012/2013 academic year had been indeed a most exciting year full of academic achievements. It’s a great thing to note that Toamy hills School has already positioned herself as a frontline in the academic hall of fame.
We have remained committed to improve the qualities of our infrastructure and the standard of this great school majorly with the delivery of a world class qualitative stronger than ever. In all these, to God is the glory.
Williams Drayton once said “change starts when someone discovers the next step”. At Toamy Hills, we thereby always move to the next step.
2012/2013 academic sessions, witnessed a lot of magnificent and applicable growth in all areas.
Academically, the pupils achieved great teats in their various capacities. Our outgoing pupils have been outstanding in all their external examinations, other pupils’ improvements in their individual classes.
As part of our commitment to produce globally relevant academic competitions ranging from mathematics competition, spelling drills, science competition amongst many others. As a way of exposing them to real life experiences thereby making their learning concepts lifelong and permit, the school embarks on diverse field trips which of course were inter curriculum linked and of great relevance to their learning concepts.
This is evident in the boost given to all extracurricular activities such as the introduction of calisthenics in sport, traditional dance in the dance club in addition to ballet and salsa dance, taekwondo under 14 competitions, cubs’ scout/red cross camping program me, literary and debating society, playing of various instruments I the music class e.t.c.
A lot of activities were held during the year, one of such was the international cardinal taekwondo competition in which pupils received awards, medals and their belts were changed to the next level. The Brownie’s thinking day and visiting to the orphanage as a means of reaching out to the less privileged, as also an unforgettable event.
In the area of infrastructure, this session witness a lot of transformations. This began with the phase lift of all our special rooms which was fully air conditioned, the provision of new comfortable imported furniture into all the class rooms and the purchase of an additional brand new school bus to ease our transport services.
The maiden bi-annual inter house sports which was aired on several television stations, published in the sun news paper and school Tip[s magazines was widely acclaimed to be a great success. Other events within the academic year was the color day, independence day celebration, Christmas rally/concert, Valentine day , Mother day ,election of perfects/swearing in ceremony, book fair, International world cultural day and some others we cannot feature in this edition. They were all great success.
Our Outgoing Pupils were not left out in the personal development scheme of the school. They were opportune to attend a workshop on pupil’s transition summit along side with other international schools during which they were equipped with the right mind set into which they will adapt to the transition from primary to secondary school environment.
I congratulate you for achieving this feat. I have no doubt that you have been transformed ever since. Kudos goes to my hard working, non- relenting supreme teachers who have gone beyond the extra mile in delivering quality educational social and moral valves to our ever supportive parents; how can in appreciate you enough for your commitment, encouragement and presence in all our programmers, you are indeed wonderful.
The greatest applause goes to my awesome motivator Mrs. A.O. Kuforiji who is non-relenting in her effort to bring out the best in both the pupils and staff.
If you believe in the dynamism of life, you will support our culture of continuous improvement. Therefore, at Toamy Hills School, we are set for the best and our success remains continuous.
